Group Guided Fly Fishing Trip on Platte River
This guided trip for six or more fishermen to the South Platte River in Pike National Forest offers a unique opportunity to experience the timeless beauty of Colorado with friends and family.
The South Platte River in Pike National Forest averages about 60 feet in width, has a moderate flow rate, and is easily waded. You'll cast off in picturesque fishing areas including large reservoirs, pine-covered mountain valleys and the meandering meadow sections of the river. Some of the fish species you may catch include rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout, with rainbows being the most common.
Your excursion fees include all equipment, flies, waders, instruction, Colorado Fishing license, lunch and transportation. A 15% gratuity will be added. Reservations are required.

Half-Day Guided Fly Fishing Trip on Platte River
Journey to the South Platte River in Pike National Forest for a true Colorado adventure you'll never forget.
We depart daily at 6:00 AM from the South Tower Lobby, with a brief stop for lunches and licenses. It takes a little over an hour to arrive at one of Colorado's premier Gold Medal waters, the beautiful South Platte River. You'll enjoy personalized instruction and fantastic fishing for approximately four hours before returning to The Broadmoor ready to regale friends and family with tales of your fishing escapades.
All Broadmoor guides are experienced, skilled instructors. If you are a beginner, we can teach you the basics. For the more experienced angler, we offer casting instruction, nymph fishing techniques, and the opportunity to catch big fish on small flies. We provide all equipment, flies, transportation, lunch and Colorado fishing license. Gratuities are not included in your excursion fees.

Chico Basin Full-Day Guided Fly Fishing Trip
This six-hour fly fishing expedition to beautiful Chico Basin in El Paso County offers an unrivalled opportunity to experience some of Colorado's finest fishing spots.
Chico Basin Ranch is an 87,000 acre ranch located 45 minutes from The Broadmoor in southeast El Paso County. The ranch boasts five spring-fed lakes that host an abundant population of largemouth bass, trophy bluegill and large crappie. These exceptional fly fishing trips are appropriate for both the experienced angler and those new to the sport, including younger enthusiasts age 12 and older. Fly fishing in the Chico Basin is superb for all three species, and it is common to catch 30 to 60 fish on the fly in a four to six-hour period, a real hoot on a light fly rod. You'll fish from pontoon or belly boats and your experienced guide will provide all equipment and flies, plus instruction as appropriate. Lunch is also provided on full day trips.
Fly Casting Instruction
This one-hour on-site instruction program is designed to teach the beginner and improve the experienced caster through personalized attention from a certified instructor. This unique fly casting instruction programs is offered through Colorado Fishing Adventures. Reservations are required.
Planning Your Colorado Fly Fishing Trip
Shoe size is required 24 hours in advance to properly fit waders. Driver's license information is also required 24 hours in advance to fill out the fishing license you'll need to participate.
Transportation can be arranged at no cost for The Broadmoor's individual guests and small groups. An additional charge will apply for transportation for group trips of 10 or more guests.
Fishing locations on the South Platte River range from 7,000 to 8,500 feet in elevation, so you will need to bring layers of clothing to prepare for cooler temperatures and potential rain showers. This includes a rain jacket, a brimmed ball-cap or hat, polarized sunglasses, and sunscreen. The sunglasses are essential for eye protection.
Guide gratuities for half-day, full-day, and trophy lake fishing trips are at your discretion. A 15% gratuity (of total guide fees) is automatically added for group trips.
