300143-Project Housekeeping Supervisor

Supervise Project House Attendants and Lobby Assistants who are directly responsible for cleaning of all public areas. Oversees minor forms of maintenance performed by subordinates in order to insure upkeep of the hotel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Trains and evaluates assigned staff and participates in disciplinary actions.
  • Ensures quality cleaning of all public areas.
  • Responsible for all keys, equipment, chemicals, tools and company property.
  • Oversees equipment maintenance within the department.
  • Ensures all fire exits are clear of obstacles.
  • Participates actively in fire drills and monitors the updating of evolutions procedures.
  • Attends regularly scheduled supervisory meetings.
  • Ensures guest request items are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Completes all related paper work.
  • Assists in linen inventories.
  • Oversees a staff of up to 12 people per shift.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training;supervisory experience preferred in janitorial field and previous hotel experience preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Accounting software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Internet software; Order processing systems and Project Management software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises 13 employees in the Project House Attendants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather);work in high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
