455103 Door Attendant
Meets and greets each guest arriving or departing from the Hotel. Assists in parking, baggage handling, direction and transportation needs. Works closely with Valet Parkers, Key Control, Bell staff, Shuttle Drivers and Host/Hostesses. Leads door staff and all other operations.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Smiles and welcomes guests with a positive attitude that supports the philosophy of The Broadmoor Hotel.
- Meets and greets all forms of transportation.
- Ensures proper luggage handling.
- Answers phones, takes messages, and responds to phone calls as needed.
- Replenishes necessary supplies (propane, valet slips, cleaning etc.)
- Gives general directions and information for The Broadmoor and Colorado Springs area.
- Assists the Valet staff with moving and parking vehicles
- Assists the Bell staff in loading/ unloading vehicles.
- Direct guests to off property attractions, restaurants, zoo, stables, or airport, and assist in arranging transportation.
- Overviews the replenishment and storage of propane tanks during inclement weather.
- Assists with removal of snow in guest services areas and the placement of ice melt when necessary.
- Meets all AAA and Forbes standards set for Door staff.
- Ensures the accuracy of marked damage on Temporary vehicles.
Leads the door staff by:
- Executes standards and holding others accountable for the same
- Prioritizes tasks and communicates these tasks to other members of the door staff.
- Ensures effective communication with staff and managers
- Manages break times
- Plans for events and high volume periods
- Directs and controls traffic flow in front of the Hotel providing guidance, verbal and non-verbal, to vehicles and staff.
- Ensures effective communication with Valet staff and Key Control.
- Ensures that valet cars are parked safely and secured.
- Ensures work area is clean at all times.
- Ensures the accuracy of marked damage on Temporary vehicles.

Education / Experience:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and at least one year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present and explain information to individuals or groups of guests and/or coworkers.
Certificates and Licenses:
Must posses a valid driver’s license.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with situations involving several concrete variables in standardized scenarios.
