625101-Loss Prevention Officer

Responsible for enforcement of all hotel regulations, directives and policies. Creates a safe environment for guests and employees and protects the assets of the Hotel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Completes hotel security training course and maintain standard of performance
  • Communicates (written and verbal) with guests and employees
  • Investigates personal injury and vehicle accidents and writes reports
  • Maintains daily activity log
  • Recognizes and reports hazards (real or probable) pertaining to personal physical liability or fire safety and assets protection
  • Conducts routine random checks of physical property
  • Performs tasks relating to traffic control
  • Conducts departure checks
  • Monitors key access to sensitive areas

 Marginal Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Performs tasks relating to Fire Life Safety Systems, 10-14’s (escort), lost and found investigations, safety deposit box control, H.T. operations (2-way radios), and convention package entry
  • Relieves Dispatcher

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to perform basic math skills.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

Word processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license and CPR certification (CPR training provided).

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold and extreme heat.  The noise level in the environment is moderate.

The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds; up to 25 pounds; up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
