For nearly 100 years, The Broadmoor has strongly believed that being involved in our community is not only the right thing to do, but it's also good business. Year after year, The Broadmoor continues to show our gratitude and commitment to the Colorado Springs region by being actively involved in community programs and eco-friendly initiatives designed to help make our world a little brighter.
Pikes Peak United Way Campaign
The Broadmoor has seen a 239% increase in donations to the Pikes Peak United Way Campaign over the last several years. Nearly 80% of what is donated comes directly from employee payroll contributions.
Build-A-Bike
Every holiday season, The Broadmoor team comes together and builds bikes to give away to needy children in the community.
Internal Employee Food Bank
The Food Bank is stocked by employees and managers year round and the food is free to any Broadmoor employee in need. Over 50 employees are assisted each year by this program.
Make a Difference Month
The Broadmoor participates annually in Make a Difference Month, which is a nationwide volunteer initiative organized by Pikes Peak United Way and Volunteer Pikes Peak.
In past years, Broadmoor employees have volunteered with the following organizations:
- The ARC of the Pikes Peak Region
- Venetucci Farm
- Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's "Boo at the Zoo"
- One Nation Walking Together
- Boys and Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region
Community Races
The Broadmoor participates in community races on a regular basis as walkers/runners or as a sponsor. Some of the more recent races include:
- Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure"
- American Diabetes Association "Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes"
- March of Dimes "March for Babies"
- "The Panoramic at Bear Creek" for Colorado Springs for Deaf and Blind Athletic Department
Adopt-A-Road
The Broadmoor adopted a portion of Lake Avenue beginning at Highway 115 and ending at Old Broadmoor Road that was in need of maintenance. A team of volunteers and members of the Grounds Department clear brush and debris to allow access to the bike path. The Broadmoor will continue to donate manpower and machinery to maintain the area as needed.
