Fly Fishing Camp End of Season Letter - 2020
PDF Version

Howdy!!!

An impressive season was had by all; high flowing waters kicked off the spring fishing, which transitioned into almost expert conditions this fall. When I had talked about sight fishing in my last correspondence, Mother Nature brought it! It may have been a bit tougher, but I witnessed more than one guest reel in a few 20 inch plus Rainbows! It was definitely a summer to remember.

As an Orvis-Endorsed lodge, we were lucky enough to host “These Boots are Made for Wading” for the third year, and we are bringing it back again in 2021! This all women’s weekend is part of our dedication to the Orvis 50/50 on the Water program, which is designed to bring more women into the sport of fly fishing. I talked about this weekend in my mid-season letter, but I had to mention it again as the ladies are still sharing their fishing tales with their friends. This weekend is an incredible gift; don’t put off booking it early as it sells out fast, June 4-6, 2021.

Over the next few months, we encourage you to keep in touch. One last bit of news before we speak again. Our own Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway will be rolling up Pikes Peak again in May 2021. I know that you like to be ahead of the game, and I encourage you to visit CogRailway.com, sign up and stay up to date while planning your next trip west!

Finally, Stacie, Blue and all of our guides wanted me to thank you all for coming to visit us this summer.  We can’t wait to get you back on the river when we reopen on Friday, April 30, 2021.

In the meantime, Tight Lines!

Manager, Fly Fishing Camp
