THE EAST GOLF COURSE
Originally designed by Donald Ross in 1917, Broadmoor East is a championship golf course in the truest sense of the word. When opened in 1918, Broadmoor East was the highest golf course in the United States at 6,400 feet in elevation. It is now a combination of the original Donald Ross design mixed with holes designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in 1967. This course is known for its wide fairways and large, challenging greens and was one of only 12 North American and Caribbean golf courses to receive a Five-Star rating by Golf Digest. The venue was also ranked number one in customer service among resorts by Golf Digest.

With tree-lined fairways and amazing mountain views, The Broadmoor East Course is ranked among the best in the country. It has been home to many major tournaments, including the 1959 U.S. Amateur, which was Jack Nicklaus’ first major win, the 1962 Curtis Cup, the 1967 U.S. Amateur, the 1995 U.S. Women’s Open which was the first of many major championship wins for  Annika Sorenstam, the 2008 U.S. Senior Open won by Eduardo Romero of Argentina, the 2011 United States Women’s Open won by So Yeon Ryu, and the 2018 U.S. Senior Open won by David Toms. The Broadmoor is honored to once again host the U.S. Senior Open in 2025.

THE WEST GOLF COURSE
A combination of the original 1918 Donald Ross design and the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. 1967 design, the West Course offers our guests a challenging course with spectacular views. This 18-hole course has more doglegs and steeply-angled greens, and is  higher in elevation than the East Course, at 6,800 feet. The rolling fairways and multilevel greens overlook both the city and the mountains. The West Course plays tighter off the tee, with more heavily tree-lined holes than the East Course, and also gives the player many spectacular approach shots. The West Course was the host site of the 1969 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship, and the 1998 PGA Cup Matches.
