Pickleball has been fully embraced at The Broadmoor, as it is a fun and active sport for the entire family. We have three dedicated pickleball courts and four certified pickleball instructors. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned expert, we have an activity for you! A complete selection of paddles, balls and attire available in The Racquet Shop.

Advance registration is required for pickleball drills, camps, and events. To reserve a spot, call the Racquet Shop at 719-577-5847 or email tennis@broadmoor.com. Pickleball is only available to hotel guests and members.

The Second Annual Picklebee - Women’s Doubles Indoor Pickleball Tournament (3.0 – 3.5)

March 3 - 5, 2023

The tournament format is a women’s doubles round-robin, guaranteeing all doubles teams an abundance of play on Friday and Saturday. Two flights will be conducted (a 3.0 flight and a 3.5 flight). All play will be conducted in our indoor tennis bubble, converted to a four-court pickleball venue for the event. Sign-up with your favorite partner. 

After play suspends on Friday, mingle with your fellow competitors at a cocktail party at The Golf Club. You'll be on your own on Saturday evening to enjoy one of The Broadmoor's fabulous restaurants. The finals of the tournament will be held on Sunday morning, featuring a festive continental breakfast and mimosas for all participants.

Adult Memorial Day Weekend Pickleball Camp (3.0 – 3.5)

May 26 – 28, 2023

This total immersion experience will cover all of the aspects of the game including technical skills, strategy, scoring and fun drills! Camp will be conducted by our Certified Pickleball Coaches. Friday’s session will give the staff an idea of your various levels, followed by beer & wine served courtside after play. Complimentary court time on our three dedicated pickleball courts is included throughout the weekend.

Adult "Pickleball, Pasta & Pizza" Weekends

August 18 – 20, 2023 (3.0 – 3.5)

September 22 – 24, 2023 (Novice – 3.0)

Not to be outdone by our culinary-themed tennis camps, we’ve introduced our first “Pickleball, Pasta & Pizza” weekends!

Our experienced pickleball coaches will lead the on-court activities with a fun variety of drills, strategy sessions and supervised match play. Our Broadmoor chefs will take the reins on Saturday evening with a focus on wood-fired pizza and pasta-making. You will learn how to make, stretch and bake perfect pizza dough in a pizza oven.
 
Pickleball Camp:
- Friday 3-5pm, followed by a courtside cocktail
- Saturday 9:00am-12:00 noon
- Saturday 1:30-3pm *Optional Open Play
- Sunday 9-11:30am

Pasta & Pizza Event:
Natural Epicurean Exhibition Kitchen & Garden

Pickleball Camp Cancellation Policy

An advance deposit is required within 10 days of booking to confirm your reservations. Your deposit consists of the first night room rate, which is charged immediately. The deposit is refundable upon notice of cancellation received at least 7 days prior to your arrival date. Balance is due upon check-out. In addition to the first night room rate deposit, a $100 per person cancellation fee for the pickleball portion will be charged to your credit card if 7 days prior notification is not received. In case of rain, pickleball camp will be rescheduled for the afternoon. In the case of a complete rain-out, only the pickleball camp portion will be refunded. A minimum of four campers are required for each camp. The Broadmoor reserves the right to cancel camps if fewer than four are signed up.

Outdoor Courts (April 18 – November 20):
$25.00 per hour (ALL DAY)

Indoor Heated Courts:
$35.00 per hour (October – April only)

Paddle & Ball Rental:
$8.00 per day, per person

Shoe Rentals:
$10.00 per day

Paddle Demo Fee: (latest models of high-end paddles):
$12 per day, per person. Demo fee is applied to purchase.

Must be at least 13 years old to participate in the adult drills. All adult drills feature a 8:1 student/pro ratio!

Adult Private:
$80.00 per hour

Adult Semi-Private (2):
$50.00 per hour, per person

1/2 Hour Private:
$50.00 per person

"Three & Me" Clinic:

The following guidelines are to be followed for all adult and junior pickleball players at our Colorado Springs resort:

  • Proper tennis/pickleball attire of any color is suggested (shirts are required at all times).
  • Proper tennis/pickleball shoes are required. Dark-soled, running or hiking shoes are not allowed and may cause injury.
  • Bathing attire, jeans, and sports bras for women, as well as sleeveless shirts for men, sandals and other non-tennis/pickleball dress are not appropriate.
