Exceptional Lodging In Wilderness Setting

An entire dude ranch, including horses and a pond.

A collection of luxury cabins (and hot tubs) 3,000 feet above civilization at a camp in the clouds.

A private section of river outlined by quaint cabins and a lodge so remote, you can’t rely on GPS to find them.

These are three wilderness experiences that can be privately booked this summer in the mountains of Colorado – all managed by the 102-year-old Forbes Five Star/AAA Five Diamond resort: The Broadmoor.

Located beyond the boundaries of the main Broadmoor campus (which is in Colorado Springs), the three wilderness properties – Ranch at Emerald Valley, Cloud Camp, and Fly Fishing Camp – are all-inclusive retreats for families and friends to gather for a vacation unlike any other. A vacation that blends luxury and immaculate hospitality with Colorado outdoor adventures.

But 2020 is a year unlike any other, and with few individual and small group reservations for this summer/early fall, the properties are more open than ever for complete buyouts for those looking to vacation with each other while limiting their interaction with other travelers.

Hidden along a private five mile stretch of the Tarryall River, The Broadmoor Fly Fishing Camp outfits guests with professional fishing guides in addition to an array of outdoor activities and wildlife watching. Rods, waders, and expertise are provided – along with Broadmoor chefs and plenty of time for relaxation or scenic hikes. Buyout rates start at $9,000 per night (inclusive of meals, beverages, + activities). There are seven authentic cabins, dating back to the 1920s, plus a grand lodge.

Nestled among the lush beauty of the Pike National Forest, the Ranch at Emerald Valley is an all-inclusive retreat where guests can hike scenic trails, fly fish in private lakes or explore the mountains on horseback before returning to luxurious private cabins and on-site Broadmoor chefs ready to serve five-star meals. Buyout rates start at $18,000 per night (inclusive of meals, beverages, + activities). There are 13 cabins at the ranch, plus a lodge.

Cloud Camp sits 3,000 feet above The Broadmoor, where 360-degree views provide a picture-perfect backdrop for nature walks or simply relaxing. This unique resort features one and two bedroom cabins, a unique fire tower suite, and six accommodations within the lodge. Guests at Cloud Camp also enjoy an array of included activities, such as mule rides, pickleball, hiking, and cooking classes. Buyout rates start at $31,000 per night (inclusive of meals, beverages, + activities). There are 11 cabins, as well as seven rooms in the main lodge.
